Thawing Out After the Coolest Place in Town

Seasons change, but the memories remain. Plenty are fresh in mind as Extra Special People reflects on its 8-week summer program that served 204 participants as part of the 2014 Camp season.
June Was All About the Units

Our youngest Wild Thing campers paraded through ESP as they sang their ‘Days of the Weeks’ song. It was easy to see the rhythm of the younger middle Jammers as they circled up for music therapy sessions and crafted with actual records. The Pollywogs sailed across the waves of emerging adolescence by practicing kitchen safety and cooking skills alongside new friends. Our older campers in #YOLO lived life on the edge, using catapults, scooters, and parachutes to try new things! Any young adult part of The Patriots can add ‘barista’ to their resume. They showed exceptional customer service and money skills in operating ESP’s own morning coffee stand.

In July, Our Cool Front Kept Spreading Out

Our younger campers did the tomahawk chop on Turner Field at the Braves Game while our older campers courageously hopped on roller coasters at Six Flags in an ESP first!

In collaboration with Camp Twin Lakes, campers young and old spent a week away from home proving that with just a bit of ESP support- any summer experience is possible!

Week by week the daily forecast will begin to register lower temperatures. However there’s no denying that some of the coolest days we’ll experience this year came during the summer months of June and July.

Thank you to everyone who made the experience possible.
