Catherine comes to us with a background in education and a passion for making a positive
impact on the local community as well as advocating for disability awareness. She has
dedicated nearly two decades to supporting students inside and outside the classroom as well
as leading change in serving the local community in many ways. She is also a special needs
mother to her daughter, Abigail, who is on the autism spectrum.
Catherine holds a Bachelor’s degree in Child and Family Development, a Masters in Secondary
Education and a Specialist in Teaching and Learning. She also has certifications in Educational
Leadership and Special Education Adaptive Curriculum. In her previous roles, she taught as a
classroom teacher for 14 years, coached high school athletics, led various student organizations
as an advisor, managed regional summer cheerleading camps in the southeast, and owns and
operates a local small business with her husband, Chris.
In her free time, Catherine enjoys volunteering with Kiwanis Club of Athens, taking trips with her
family, and fulfilling her desire to be a lifelong learner. She is excited to bring her energy and
vision to our organization, helping us achieve our mission to create transformative experiences
for people with disabilities and their families, changing communities for the better.
