ESP In High Point
ESP was founded in Athens, Georgia in 1986 and has been delivering programs that create transformative experiences for people with disabilities and their families for 40 years, changing communities for the better. Already thriving in Athens, Atlanta, Rome, and Savannah, ESP is bringing that mission to High Point, NC serving the Piedmont Triad area! We have programs for people of all ages and all abilities.
Our program offerings include monthly family night dinners and activities, as well as summer camp and purposeful employment through Java Joy. We have recently launched a new program, Members+, which enables people to participate in online programming from any location. ESP community events are a joyful place where families can connect, volunteers can make a difference and donors can fuel lasting impact.
Our Programs
Family Dinners are one of the simplest and most meaningful ways ESP builds community.
Held monthly throughout the year, these gatherings create space for families to connect, share stories, and enjoy a meal together without the pressure of cooking, cleaning, or planning. For many families, Family Dinners become a place to slow down, build relationships, and feel understood. Each month, Family Dinners also include a joyful celebration of Members’ birthdays. As part of our Birthday Party program, we honor our members with cake and recognition, helping families mark milestones together in a way that feels warm, personal, and celebratory. Family Dinners are open to the whole family, regardless of age.
ESP Club Events create welcoming spaces where Members can connect socially, and enjoy time together in a relaxed, supportive environment. Designed for a ages 4+, these gatherings are led by trained staff who ensure every Member feels comfortable, included, and encouraged to participate in ways that feel right for them. Whether it’s themed event, or social outing, Club Events offer meaningful connection.
Member+ is a paid extension of the ESP experience, designed to provide Members and families with expanded access to connection, resources, and support year-round. Member+ offers additional opportunities to engage with ESP through live online experiences, family resources, and included programming—while remaining affordable and accessible through scholarships.
Whether families participate in ESP programs in person, live farther away, or are navigating a season that makes travel difficult, Member+ helps ensure they stay meaningfully connected to the ESP community in ways that feel supportive, flexible, and welcoming. As with all ESP programs, scholarships apply, and no family is ever turned away due to inability to pay.
