J.C. Lewis Mazda Fuels Java Joy in Savannah with esp Partnership
esp (Extra Special People, Inc.) exists to create transformative experiences for people with disabilities and provide vital support for their families. In January, Savannah Georgia became the fourth esp location, and since then, the team has been hard at work building connections and spreading joy across the community.
A key part of that effort is Java Joy, esp’s mobile coffee business that provides purposeful employment for adults with disabilities. Java Joy offers far more than a cup of coffee—it brings hugs, smiles, and pure joy to every event it serves, turning ordinary moments into extraordinary experiences.
To bring that mission to life, esp needed a reliable vehicle to tow its Java Joy coffee cart to bookings around Savannah. That’s when J.C. Lewis Mazda stepped up, donating a Mazda CX-90 to power the program’s growth.
"We absolutely cannot do what we do without the support of local businesses"

The partnership was celebrated with a special event at the dealership, where Joe Lewis, General Manager of J.C. Lewis Mazda, joined the Java Joy team behind the cart to serve customers. “It was amazing working alongside the Joyristas—each with different abilities—spreading joy one cup at a time,” said Lewis.
The connection began when a J.C. Lewis Mazda customer mentioned esp as an organization worthy of support. That single recommendation sparked research, conversations, and ultimately, a partnership rooted in shared values.
“Our partnership with esp reflects what we value most at J.C. Lewis Mazda—building meaningful connections and investing in the community we serve,” said Lewis. “The energy, purpose, and joy they’ve shown us is nothing short of inspiring, and we’re grateful to play a small role in helping that mission grow here in Savannah.”

Thanks to J.C. Lewis Mazda’s generosity, Java Joy can continue spreading smiles across Savannah, GA one joyful cup of coffee at a time.
