About Alex Perry

Core value: Connecting the unconnected – “Because I see the value of connecting every member of our community (families, participants, donors, business leaders, volunteers, community leaders) to each other in a meaningful way. Doing so truly changes lives, and thus our community, for the better.”

Alex C. Perry was named ESP’s Director of Development in January of 2022. In this role, he leads strategy and ensures effective fundraising efforts across all communities we serve at ESP and positions philanthropy as an important and functional part of its culture. Alex serves as a member of the ESP Leadership Team, providing counsel regarding the organization’s vision, strategic plans, and development operations.

Most recently, Perry served as the Director of Alumni Relations, Annual Giving and Donor Stewardship at the University of Georgia School of Law in Athens, Ga. while simultaneously starting his accounting services firm called ACP Accounting Services.

Prior to moving to Athens, Ga in 2017, Alex was a realtor for Rogers Healy & Associates in Dallas and president of Perry Productions & Management Group in Frisco, Texas. As president, he managed a full-service consulting and event management production company that specialized in the nonprofit sector. He produced large-scale theatrical productions, community fundraising events and other charitable events. Previously, Alex worked as a campaign associate for the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas and supported the corporate relationship manager in stewarding a portfolio of law firms to give to the UWMD in order to achieve the organization’s $75 million fundraising goal.

In addition to those roles, Alex was the music and worship chief of staff at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas. There, he was the primary counselor to the worship pastor, who led three teams on matters of fundraising, HR, budgets, event programming and special projects. Additionally, he managed and developed key internal and external donor and constituency relationships. Previously, Perry was the director of the school of Fine Arts at Prestonwood Baptist Church. He also served as the assistant to the marketing director at Dallas Baptist University from 2006 to 2008.

Although not a UGA graduate, Alex is as close to being an alumnus as one can get without a diploma. A native of Columbus, Georgia, the majority of his family are Dawgs (his mother and father are 1983 graduates) and all of them now scattered throughout the state. Alex earned his bachelor’s degree in music business from Dallas Baptist University (Dallas, TX) in 2008.

Alex lives in Athens, Ga and can be found cheering on the Dawgs at most UGA sporting events, enjoying any type of live music, traveling with friends and family, or serving at his home church – Prince Avenue Baptist Church.

His ESP Why: “I’m at ESP because I see the immense and exciting opportunity ahead of us to meet the needs of and serve so many more families.”
