Core value: Connecting the Unconnected – “I love seeing the excitement and value our participants feel when you take the time to understand what they are trying to say. Not all of our participants speak very clearly, and I always try to practice patience to listen and understand what they are trying to say.”
Kayla thrives when the sun is shining–just like her houseplants. She loves to engage and connect with people through food whether that is meeting up for a meal somewhere or hosting a dinner party at her house. As a self-proclaimed foodie, where there’s food and people, there is also Kayla. She is responsible for running Rome’s programs focusing on Java Joy events and coordinating with all of Rome’s AMAZING volunteers.
Her esp Why: “Primarily, I work with Java Joy and our Joyristas. My esp Why stems from my experience in employing our participants and seeing how giving them responsibility and independence can truly be transformative!”
