Lee Epting, founder of Epting Events, embodies this philosophy. “A great percentage of the reason we are in business is to make money on one hand so we can give to things we care about, especially in Athens and northeast Georgia. We want to take care of the community and our people,” Lee explained. One of the primary ways they contribute is through their long-standing partnership with esp.
Partnership, Popsicles and Parties
Epting Events has been a cornerstone of the esp Gala since day one, offering their full menu of services and heartfelt support. But their commitment doesn’t stop at the event venue. Volunteers hand out popsicles to program participants in the Athens summer heat and cheer campers at Camp Hooray send-offs. In short, they embody what it means to serve with joy.
Enthusiasm for esp runs deep at Epting Events. They have hosted the Java Joy coffee cart and actively promote it to their clients. They proudly display signs around the office highlighting their esp affiliation, and sparking conversations with business contacts about the impact of esp in Athens and beyond. “The Eptings are known for giving back to the community, so I think it’s a great blend—esp and Epting Events,” said Su-Lin Timberman, who collaborates with esp each year to make the Gala extraordinary.
Preparation for this year’s Gala began months ago, with teams from Epting Events and esp working together to create a spectacular experience. In addition to staff and volunteer hours, Epting Events provides “…all the things that make it beautiful and take guests to another experience,” Su-Lin shared. As Floral Director, she takes pride in crafting an evening that will leave attendees with warm memories and a desire to strengthen their ties to esp. One look at the results confirms that this year’s Gala was one for the books.
