About Erin Thompson Podvin

Core value: Connecting the unconnected: “At my core I am a connector. I have always enjoyed introducing people I knew would hit it off because of shared interests, and I have a knack for identifying commonalities and places where individuals and organizations can come together.”

Erin is ESP’s People Engagement Manager. In addition to her work at ESP, Erin is active in the local community, serving on a number of non-profit boards as well as the PTO at her sons’ school. She and her husband Josh are frequently called on as a duo to emcee non-profit events and fundraisers, and their involvement in the community led them to being named two of Athens’ “Exceptionals” for 2013. Erin is a proud first-generation college graduate of Boston University, a 2013 graduate of the LEAD Athens program, and served two & a half years as a Peace Corps volunteer in rural Guatemala. In her free time she plays soccer, enjoys photography, and looks for any excuse for a dance party! Erin and Josh are the proud parents of Amos & Charlie and are raising their family in Athens, Georgia.

ESP Why: “My ESP why is WHY NOT?! I love that we are a place that challenges the norms around what society thinks that people with disabilities can do. I believe that we all have a right and responsibility to contribute to the communities in which we live, work & play, and ESP helps to facilitate that in ways that are inclusive, innovative, and fun!”
